If you are developing an advertising campaign, or working on a media project, there are usually several people involved. You will need people to be able to access default layouts, logos, and multiple other multimedia objects. Even though you may have scored a great hp discount on your new laptop, raw media files can take up a lot of space in a short amount of time. So you will want a system that offers frequent backups and large data storage, along with the ability to share and manipulate media between several people. If you’re looking for a way to allow several people to collaborate on media and art projects, here are a list of the most popular web sites:

Dropbox (*personal side note, I LOVE using this when consulting with artists or sharing business docs. Do yourself a favor, sign up, it’s free!) One of the most well-known shared media sites is Dropbox. They are based on cloud computing, which means that any user can access and update media from any location, at any time. Dropbox also offers a program that will automatically sync files between users, so you do not have to manually download updates for each file changed or added. Additionally, if you accidentally delete a file, Dropbox allows you to log into their website and “undelete” the accidentally removed file. With Dropbox, you can create folders and chose to share or keep them private as needed. Finally, if you need to share a file with someone that doesn’t have an account, it is as simple as sharing the file to your public folder and sharing the public URL for the file.

SugarSync SugarSync is yet another automated file sharing online utility. Again, these files can be accessed and updated from anywhere, at any time, using a cloud based file system. These files can be downloaded and uploaded using laptops, smart phones and many other mobile devices. SugarSync can also automatically update file changes even if you are not online at the time that you make the changes to the file. If your computer is not online when the changes are made, once the computer detects and internet connection, SugarSync will immediately post the updated file to the SugarSync network.

Mozy Another great shared media and file site that is growing in popularity is Mozy. As with other similar providers, Mozy uses a cloud based storage system, which provides absolute mobility in file access and updates. Mozy is a bit different from most other media storage and sharing systems in that it is designed to deal with files on a much larger scale. While other solutions give businesses and organizations the ability to share within a few dozen users at most, Mozy is designed for large scale backup and storage. Mozy will allow backups of entire servers and computers, rather than just specific files. Despite their large scale storage options, they still have apps that are available for Apple and Android mobile devices, along with Win
